Interviews
Hi
I have just found out that I didn't get a job that I applied for and was told it was because I wasn't confident enough in the interview.
I am not a very confident person as it is and my mind goes completely blank when I have an interview and get very tongue tied.
I feel that I would be able to do the job if given a chane but no one wants to know because I get very nervous. I feel I have enough experience for it but my confidence just lets me down and everytime I get turned down for a job, my confidence drops even more.
Is there anything that can help me build my confidence up?
T I A.

I am the same as you Natalie. I hate interviews and get all nervous and tongue tied. I was made redundant a few years back and was temping whilst looking for a permanent job. I had been to quite a few interviews but not secured anything.
The last interview that I had, I really, really prepared well for it and had someone go through possible questions and answers with me the night before. She kind of made me do a mock interview and she grilled me like a proper interviewer would.
When it came to the actual interview, I found that I wasn't half as nervous as normal and was actually waiting for them to ask certain questions because I knew I had fantastic answers for them! I got the job.
So, you may prepare before hand anyway but get someone to go through it with you (maybe do the mock inteview) and ask them to give you feedback on where they feel you could improve or give a better answer.
Good luck!

Oh my god! I am exactly like you! I've had 4 interviews in the past 2 weeks and havent heard back from any yet - I have a feeling what the answers with be - ''NO THANKS''! I mean I go in all confirdence and have a laugh with them when necessary, then like you kinda go blank at the questions they ask!
I dont think interviews even tell you that you're the right person for the job anyway, as people can proper ******** their way through interviews and then they're **** at the job.
Someone once told me that when you go for a job and then the interview, we are the majority going for that particular position and they're only looking for 1 person! So say out of 15 people going going for that interview, 14 will get knocked back. I guess thats life for you. (Does all that make sense by the way?!).
Good luck in the future. x
