enforced holidays

i work for a production company and i am now finishing two weeks before xmas, as there is no work. So now the hours i will be paid for will be banked and will have to work the hours back next year by doing overtime. can they do this? thanks sassey

I read today that a few companies are doing this.
Bentley are are one of them, closing down 2 weeks before Xmas and opening mid January and only paying the staff 2 weeks pay.
Vauxhall, BMW and Michelin tyres also.
