sorry i did write it rubbish didnt i?..... my partner works for a large department store i.e in house, i just wondered when the law comes into effect that all security guards need their s.i.a licence as his firm have taken him on and he hasnt got one or any of the other guards

not for in house security, it comes into effect next year or 2010 and i wanted to no the exact date

yes but if its in house security i.e private shops at the moment they dont

As far as I am aware there are no current plans to make the licensing of in-house security compulsory as long as the premises isn't licensed for the sale and consumption of alcohol.
