unpaid leave due to bad snow??

If i was off work due to being snowed in. I am also pregnant therefore its extra dangerous to go out!

I had two days off which I know that I will not be paid for, However upon returning to work i found an email send a few days before advising staff that we have to take it as annual leave. I have booked all my annual leave up until 31st march and am unable to change it.

Can they make us change it or change it without notice?? I'm not sure where i stand?? Thanks Zoe

If you've already booked all your holiday, it would be unreasonable for an employer to force you to cancel.
Ask for a discussion around either unpaid or 'borrowing' from next year's holiday entitlement.

The company I work for as a manager makes you use annual leave - or unpaid leave - unless the actual place of work shuts down.
Why should an employer have to pay for bad weather? It 'sno ones fault is it? I agree you shouldnt risk life or limb to get to work however.
They should allow you to owe the day back or deduct a days pay. Either is reasonable
