Got a job about 3 weeks after but was for head housekeeper and hours were ridiculous. then about 6 months later got a job in admin, but the manager got cancer so withdrew the offer. Now I have another admin job about 5 mins walk from me so all worked out in the end. That was my 8th interview
I applied for a job sometime in August and never had a reply. A couple of weeks ago, I got a call on the Wednesday or Thursday to attend an interview the following Monday. I went to the interview at 11.15 and received a call in the late afternoon offering me the job. There were approximately 100 applicants, whittled down to 12 interviewees, 2 of whom DNA.
The post is an NHS one and I should start within the next couple of weeks. I applied for about a dozen posts across various depts of the NHS and got 2 interviews, but cancelled the other after I was offered the post I referred to above.

Hey Sara, sorry I missed your post.
I will be working as an Assistant Med Sec in T&O. It's the first time in years I've had to consider working a 9-5, but strangely, I'm really looking forward to it. I'm chuffed to bits that I beat off all the other applicants (including the internal ones) and just hope that I can continue doing some PR and Interior Design as forms of supplementary income until the Economy becomes more stable.
I'm definitely considering a career in writing (Food/Restaurant Critic) in the not-too-distant future.
