Application Forms- Previous Employment

When filling in application forms should you list all your previous employment or just the relevant ones; I'm applying for a teaching post and it doesn't state either way so don't know whether to put part time stuff on there or not?

Yes, put absolutely everything on there. Otherwise, you may have gaps in your employment history... which can be seen as a bad thing.

I wouldn't have any gaps as such because the part time work was alongside college courses?

Nevertheless put everything in Sophie. Even it it isn't relevant it shows that you're employable, keen and a person who likes to be busy.

You can always write a little more about the relevant jobs and less about those that were not as important.

Ah, I see. Sorry, I misunderstood.
Hmm... If it were me, I would put it. It may not be relevant, but it does show commitment and also shows you are a hard worker... .which is always a positive.

Just another question; I'm also working as a supply teacher at the moment (when they actually start giving me work anyway!) on the application form it asks for salary; should I put the daily rate the supply agency are paying me for when I am on assignments?

Okie doke; his one is the worst form I've had to fill in; have been trying to work out what I was paid when I was a teaching assistant based only on my P4 and P60; have given up finding an exact figure and am going with an approximate!

To actually get an interview these days is quite an accomplishment so congratulations.

What age of brat are you trying to force an education into? My SIL is a secondary school teacher and it sounds like quite an adventure!

Nursery children; so can disguise learning in really exciting play activities! Have got to do a 5min presentation as part of the interview; about stakeholders and how important they are :oS! My friend is in secondary and I think she's so brave but as part of her course she had to teach some primary (only as young as Yr3 I think though) and she didn't know how I have the patience to explain things in such detail!

I'm not sure that me working with children would ever be a good idea. My maternal instinct is AWOL, my kitties are enough.

Good luck with the little ones once you get a job - at least at nursery they are still going down for a nap and stuff like that. :-)

Lol; if I wasn't trying to get into teaching I'd want to work with cats! Yeah; and they're so eager to please at that age and really impressed with stickers so easy to get them to behave!
