Supermarket may be the best option for you, don't have to spell too much and they can take you on at 16. I'd like this opportunity also to point out your atrocious spelling. skwl=school? realy=really? meen while=meanwhile? thnx=thanks? It's just horrible. Good luck with GCSE English.

i actualy tryed a supermarket and they make the chances of getting in to complicated with very hard aplication sheets and very hard questions an 1 wrong answer and your out :( i supose i could alwasy try different 1ns
I would concentrate on your revision for the time being and get a job after you have finished all of your exams. This is an important time in your life please don't try to rush into a job too soon, despite what some people will tell you, GCSE's are important.
maybe they don't want you as you don't seem to be able to write/spell proper english.....
Concentrate on "skwl" mate!

My thoughts are echoed above. were should be where. I'd be surprised if you even got an interview at a supermarket with that standard though.

i agree with all of the above as far as spelling & grammar go...

but what i suggest is writing up a CV, getting a parent or teacher to have a look at it (remember to include predicted GCSE grades, work experience, a couple of sentences about your interests and two references - one should be a teacher or someone senior at your school and the other maybe a friend of the family) and then hand your CV in to local shops and anywhere else you'd like to work, but do it in person - do not send a friend or parent to do it for you! also it looks far more mature if you go around by yourself. make sure you ask if they have an application form, or any vacancies. fill in any application forms given to you, but hand a copy of your CV in with it. even if they don't have vacancies, give them a copy of your CV and ask if they will bear you in mind for any upcoming openings.

make sure write your CV by yourself and definitely spell-check it.

best of luck

You got some great advice there from  magicdice, do try and follow it. Maybe your careers adviser at school can help you with your CV?

Also, if you have to fill in a form try writing the answers out on spare paper first and get someone else to help you with any spellings you're not sure of.

Although you don't really need to spell to work in a supermarket, presentation of your application is very important and employers have so many people wanting jobs that they do make judgements on things like spelling and grammar.

thanks ursula

another couple of things i've thought of that you should consider: firstly hand-write your availability dates or what days of the week you'd like to work across the top of your CV. this draws attention to them and also shows that you can write legibly (so make sure you do!). secondly, not everyone is going to have time to read a page of text. go with bullet-points and subheadings, but remember to still use full sentences, don't waffle too much.
