When you start a new job does your new employer notify the benefits agency or Jobcentre Plus.
I am considering taking a job which lasts only for 1 week and might not bother telling my local dole office.

When i signed on today they told me if i signed off for 1 week they could do a FAST re-claim when i signed back on. dont know whether its worth the hassle.
it's worth the hassle to keep you self respect
worth the hassle to keep within the law?

if you don't, next time you sign on you'll be making a false declaration, prosecutable under S112 of the Social Security Administration Act 1992.

and don't assume they won't find out...
and no, it's your responsibility to notify, not your employer.
Gotta be worth the hassle - show yhem what you can do ! You never know , at least you'll increase your network of people who may need you

You tell the job centre you have found a a job and want to close the claim simple as, call the number up to do i. Id tell the JC about the job lasting only 1 week, they will most likely close it but let you re open it when the work has ended.
The NI deduction from the wages will show on your NI record and that will be picked up at the end of the tax year when a scan is done
