Served cold?

In a few weeks' time, as part of a staff review, I will be moving to another department. I'm pleased because I bl##dy hate the place I'm working in right now. The manager has made my life hell for the past two years and at least one of my colleagues is giving her verbatim reports of everything I say and do when she's not there. So when I go, I'd like to leave them (and her especially) some sort of legacy. Short of altering/deleting a few files on the shared drive, however, I'm stuck for some subtle but impactful ways of reeking my revenge - possibly something that won't become evident immediately. Any ideas?

Don't do it, saxy - these things backfire. You are still working for the same employer and you have a duty of care with data etc which you handle, irrespective of which department you are in - the same policies etc will apply to you. Just leave with your head held high, and think how much they'll miss you.

Totally agree with twoshortplanks, they would love it if you did something like that and then lost your job!............It's not worth the risk!........

If you do anything regarding figures which total themselves up then alter the equation so the totals are subtley inaccurate. But honestly, I really wouldn't bother.

Please don't wreak any sort of revenge on them, it wouldn't be worth it and it might come back someday and bite you. The best revenge is to get on with your life a be a success. However, if at sometime in the future you find yourself in a position to get even, then consider any and all consequences first, go for it - revenge as they say is a dish best served cold

I still say don't do it. If you ever need to leave the company and you've done something in revenge, it might come back and bite you on the bum. Not worth it - move on.

personally i wouldnt do any sort of revenge, these things have a habit of coming back and biting you on the rear, however if you feel you must please dont sabotage anything to do with your work/computer as it will be easily traceable, if you delete files and they get a technician to look at it, as a works computer there will probably be a log he can access which will implicate you.

Hmmm ... I like the prawn idea, not the least because everyone eats their lunch in the office anyway.

During my time there I have created lots of templates for various labels and such, purely off my own bat. I may well transfer them to my personal drive before I leave, along with the various corporate information lists I have gathered, as well as a few passwords to forms that I update on a regular basis. I gave her the passwords months ago in case she ever needed to access the documents when I wasn't there. If she's lost them now, then that's her own problem (and she's good at losing passwords).
