1 week Notice
2 Answers
Hi, I will be giving in my 1 week notice shortly to my employer as I've been on lay off for more than 4 weeks without pay, other than statutory guarantee pay. I've already given in my letter regarding intention to claim redundancy which I've had no response to, and as I understand it you give your employer 7 days to respond then you have 3 weeks to give in your notice, if you wish to claim redundancy.
Is my employer obliged to pay me my full pay for the notice period whether I'm willing to work my notice period or not?
I'd prefer not to work my notice period but would I still get full pay for that notice week?
Many thanks.

You seem to be more interesting in getting away from the employment contract than getting your money - understandable if you've been messed around but you may eliminate your opportunity to get statutory redundancy.
As the weblink says, ACAS can help you with this.
Are you sure that your contractual notice period is only 1 week? - when did the employment contract start?
