I have a young familly, no mortgage and have you have to change jobs because I get moved around too much at short notice. Could be in Scotland 1 week and wales the next. No good for a familly.
I have been offered 2 jobs. One in hull which is a better company with better prospects. Not more money than what I am on but just better prospects.

The other job is working through an agency and it is based out in the south of france. It is working on the biggest nuclear new technology project in the world. The money is at least double what I am getting now. The France job is a years contract which should be more. But working through an agency they could just get rid of me easily when ever they want.

I would do anything rather than live in Hull.

lol craft
stay here in UK.
talk to your partner!
this is something for your family and you to discuss, the detail in which you have gone into suggests you like the french opportunity better than the hull one.

what would you do?

I would look at the education stages my children were at and I would also discuss it with my spouse. This decision will affect my whole family, so its with them that my final decision would lie. I would not be afraid to say no to either job.
em have you seen Hull?
How young are the children?

child is nearly 3 and my parner doesn't mind either. So really its just my decision and I am that indecisive that I need to ask people on a web site.
You've got a job on ITER?

Grab it - worked at Culham during the JET program great atmosphere

Opportunities to work on leading edge stuff like that don't come knocking a second time - if you turn it down you'll always regret it and tell people how you nearly wen to work in the South of France on a huge international project.

No brainer!
a years contract is not worth uprooting the family for.
Go for it....

It's a year...get your house rented out and experience something different.
France - or you'll always think 'what if....'
Always assuming the rest of the family agree of course.
You'll have bi-lingual kids with great experience of the world. Don't be afraid of taking kids to France because the junior education there is first rate.
If your childs nearly 3 it's a great time to work abroad, she/he will probably come back bilingual.
I think I'd take the chance.

The child doesn't need to be in school in the next 12 months so you can go, see how it pans out and decide what to do if you are offered more work next year. If it's no good then just come home.
Having seen you post at 2.27 I would say 'What are you waiting for?'
Its a no-brainer IMO.

Yes it is the ITER project indeed! wow you are on the ball :)
okay I thought you had school age kids for some reason, I agree with the above.
I have, didn't seem so bad, though not long enough there to ascertain what sort of place it really is. But quite frankly it's a lot if you move the family to France and if it doesn't work out, back you come.
Go for the France job. Just think how good that's going to look on your CV :-)

Whatever you decide, all the best x
go for it.... who knows where it could lead you
