should i quit my job for apprenticeship??

I currently work in a factory, its a full time job and i earn 10k per annum. Im 20 and live with parents so have no major bills to pay. a month ago i went on a spree applying for various jobs to try and get myself a better job and today i received an email from British airways stating that i had progressed to the next stage and to attend a pre-assessment next week. for an engineering technician apprenticeship, however they did not state the duration of the apprenticeship or the salary i would be on as an apprentice. Im also unsure what sort of salary engineering technicians are on and i also don't fully know what the job involves but i think i may enjoy it.
Do you think i should take a shot in the dark and go for it or play it safe and stay in the job Im currently in even though its minimum wage.

Anything in the aerospace industry will be a useful skill, in many countries - so you might look at emigrating one day....but however tempting the promises, make sure you understand and have in writing 'the bottom line' before you agree to change job. Use some leave to attend the interviews and selection, and don't talk about it at work till you know where you stand. People can be peculiar.
I personally agree that while you are young it is worth taking a risky chance like this which might pay dividends in future years, but remember to get offers in writing.

But don't be afraid to ask all of your questions at every stage. It will make you sound interested and well organised if you check things like the duration of the apprenticeships and the prospects at the end of it.

I'd definitely go for it, even if the wage is less than 10k, your potential future earnings will be greater than what you would earn in a warehouse. Good luck.

Thanks for all the answers so far! not getting ahead of myself as i havnt got the job yet. But i think i will go for it although Im abit concerned that i havnt got alot of knowledge on what the job involves.

Ask at the pre-assessment the duration of the apprenticeship and what the salary is.

could you not pull a sicky on your current job and ggo to the day they invited you on? then you can ask them all these questions and make a more informed choice.

The apprentice rate for the first year is £2.60, which would half your annual salary *if* British Airways only pay that. After the first year, you're eligible for at least the National Minimum.

Looking at your circumstances, you have no bills to pay, you have a secure roof over your head and parents that won't see you go hungry. I think you'd be daft not to go for it, the longer term benefits - and career path - far outweigh the benefits of staying at the factory.

As my current job is 4 on 4 off luckily the day b.a have invited me for a pre-assessment lands on my day off so no need to pull a sicky or anything.
