My granddaughter who is seventeen and still at school has been seeking a weekend job to get some moneyb for Christmas presents.

She has got a job at a town centre shop and last Sunday, was left on her behind the counter while the supervisor worked in the office at the back.

For this work she is being paid the princely sum of three pounds 26p per hour.

Can this be right?

thanks
It sounds pathetic, but remember she won't pay tax or NI, so will keep all of it.
Also, it is good experience at that age- it will give her something solid to pt on her CV.
The rate will increase by around £1 an hour from her birthday
It also shows that the supervisor trusts her to do a good job while he or she catches up on paperwork. A bit of a compliment for a youngster.
