I got a promotion and payrise with that and slight extra cost of living rise too and been made permanent from fixed term so not done badly although still earning a huge amount less than I was a few years ago.
It's scary how much the prices of things are going up and up in the shops though, meat, fruit and veg, bread etc... things generally really.
I'm lucky though, I have a job and a roof over my head so I have a lot to be grateful for and there are always ways to budget.
Pay freeze at my place too (though thankfully I got the cost of living bonus for those who earn less than a certain amount). No sign of it being lifted for a while either.
I managed to get a transfer to a new site at a higher band so was lucky.
I haven't had a pay rise for 4 years now and had my hours cut last month. Looks like the business is going under so who knows what this year will bring. At my age getting another job won't be easy.
Work? What's that? I've not had a regular job since 2005!
However I did get considerably more casual contract work throughout the year (so it's not all bad news) but the fees being paid haven't risen for several years.
