Aberdeen schools had in-service day and mid-term added together. They were off last Friday and Mon, Tues & Wed this week. Back today. Never seem to be at school these days. Quite different from England I think?

If you need to know a particular area, you can either look at the website of a school in that area (they will always have the terms dates) or sometimes the LA have term times.

To find the dates in your area, don't put 'holidays' in your search. (You'll probably get loads of ads for holidays if you do!). Search for 'xxxxxx term dates', where xxxxxx is the name of the relevant education authority (such as Suffolk or Barnet).

No school holidays for me- around 60% the schools within a 25 miles were in this week, and 40% are open next week so I'm expecting to be booked up again. It's been a nightmare for some parents with children at two schools with different holidays
