If I were to work part time in two jobs that were for the NHS but different departments, would I get taxed at the same rate?

I vaguely remember many years ago that the second job would get taxed at a higher rate.

Many thanks

Its not necessarily that the second is at a higher rate just that your personal tax free allowance may be applied only to your first job and therefore you pay tax on the full amount you earn in the second. However this does depend on how much your earning and it usually applies if you work for different employers. As you work for one employer I would have thought that the two separate posts would be paid at the same time and that any tax allowance would cover the entire amount. Of course if your combined earnings take you into the next tax bracket you may pay a higher tax rate on the amount above the threshold.
The tax you pay depends on what you earn over a whole year, it does not matter if you have one job or 6 jobs.

If you earned say £25,000 over the year on 6 jobs you would still pay the same overall tax if it was with one job.

Mind you it may be worth checking at the end of the year you HAVE paid the right amount of tax.
If it is one employer you should be getting one combined pay slip. It doesnt matter what desk you are sitting at or what the pay rates/hours are for each job. If this is not the case as Richard says all you allowances would be given in the first pay slip and none on the second.
Yes, unless your income is over £800pw you wouldn't pay higher rate tax on any of it. You may find though, as others have said, that on one of the jobs you'd pay 20% tax on the whole lot, whereas on the other the first £9000 or so would be tax free. It's up to you whether you want to split the allowance between jobs. If you want to make sure you don't over pay now and have to reclaim at the end of the tax year, ask for you allowance to be either split or applied fully to the higher paid job.
