Me again!

I am applying for a new job and have an application form to fill in.  Do I need to send a copy of my CV with the application form?

What would you do?

Yes. I would certainly send it, and perhaps a cover letter, depending on the job you are seeking.

I always staple my CV to the form if they send one all the info is on there.
If it is an application form then no Cv is required - all the info requested will be on the app. form.  A covering letter is a must though, even though I have been told that anything accompanying an application form goes straight in the bin!  You could also try websites such as www.monster.co.uk which offer pretty good advice on such matters.

The jobs I am currently applying for are EITHER CV+cover letter OR application form, but NEVER both.

If a firm has taken the time to forumlate an application form, this implies that they do not want/need your CV.  Moreover, an application form will ask questions like "what is your previous experience?", "what will you bring to our company?" and "why have you applied to work for US?" THerefore a cover letter would be surplus to requirements.

I personally would do what was asked of me.  If I felt there was something extra that was REALLY important, I would add a letter.  E.g., if you failed an exam but it was because you'd been ill - you may wish to explain that.  But remember to make the cover letter positive over all.

Otherwise - just do what you're told - no more, no less! :-)

Good luck! :-)

If you send a CV with an application form they wont read it.

The application form is tailored to the job and requests all the information that they need.  Sending a CV as well may make you look inexperienced and like you dont know what you are doing
