New Job Dilemma
9 Answers
So I started my new job 3 weeks ago and after a couple of days noticed that there were lots of meetings and private conversations between management that just didnt seem ordinary. It was obvious something was going on.
Then at the end of last week week one of the lads in my dept told me how he'd been told that if we received more than £x.xx value of purchase invoices (which I know is quite possible) then the financiers would pull the plug.
The department I work in is the only profitable dept in the company so he said if that happened we'd split out on our own tomorrow and keep working (the way we were before we got bought out a few years ago).
He brought it up again today after a couple of dept managers went off to have another meeting. He said one was trying to convince the other to clear the place of anything valuable before the receivers come in so we can't start up straight away again.
So, I have no idea what to do. I can't really go and asking my managers if the company is about to fold, although its so obvious to everyone something is going on but I feel like I've been duped. I can't decide whether I should just cut my losses and very quickly start searching elsewhere or sit it out and see hat happens. Any advice?

These sort of things don't happen out of the blue so it seems odd they'd recruit me if they knew they were in trouble but there's certainly something not right. I know my main boss is out tomorrow so ill see if I hear anything else and pluck the courage up to speak to him Wednesday.
