I have recently graduated and looking for jobs in financial services. I have had little luck so far but am persevering. I have a bar job at the moment but only do about 10 hours per week. I am considering applying for job seekers allowance. Is this likely to affect me getting a job in any way?

No it shouldnt do, you are only out of university and very few people have a relevent job to go into immediately!
You won't get job seekers allowance if you maintain your 10 hour bar job.

I thought you were able to work for up to 16 hours per week. Is this not correct?
Sorry yes you are correct.

They will ask you how much you are earning, and will probably say no. I think that this 15hours rule only works if you are unemployed and then whilst signing on, get a part-time position, where this is allowed. You'll have to check with your Job centre as they all can be slightly different.
