i saw this online and i was interested to note that in almost every note the children wrote the letter t as a cross ... without the curved bottom

it seems to me that the 'cross' T is something that develops as you grow up - you are not taught it at school - all these children would not have 'developed' this trait yet - they would be writing the letter the way they were taught.
only about 2-3 have the curved bottom out of 39!

which leads me to think the whole lot of these supposed childrens notes are fake...

so, two questions -
am i right? - are children ever, anywhere taught to write the letter t as a cross ...?

and why would anyone fake something like this? ok its for a laugh, but if its fake just seems kind of sad and pointless ... genuine kids notes would surely be funnier that any made-up stuff a grown up can invent.

they are American, I think that the t without a curve is taught there.

i also noticed a few other little 'grown-up' traits - such as the little curve in the R's in mrs mcmahon - are kids taught this?

I was taught do do the t without a cross (not in Britain). It wasn't till we had an italics-minded head teacher that we were all taught curved letters.
