Do a google search and you will find lots of good web sites. Unfortunatly for each good website you will find 30 scams.
The golden rule is don't don't DON'T pay any cash upfront on this business. No, really, Don't! The odds are you wont see it again.
On a more positive note, I now work from home after leaving the air force in Jan this year, it is a life i enjoy and don't really want to go back to real work again.
Avoid things like "envelope stuffing and craft work" nearly all are scams, though there really are some very legitamate companys looking for casual labour home based.
You know better than me what sort of thing you can do now, also your never too old to further educate yourself via night classes etc in your area
