A Job Seeker So Unfair Treated
15 Answers
My employment agent arrange a telephone interview for me, I prepared it and had tel interview done. A few days later, my employment agent said I done well during the tel interview and they asked me to come to their office for face to face second interview. I also prepared it well, read through the company website..., got up 6am at interview day, dressing up, stuck in the traffic 1.5 hrs cos something happen in city centre and worrying I would be late. Still could managed to arrive on time, then the interview took me 1.5 hrs long, I performed well during the interview. Well, at the same day, my agent said the company have to re think if there was a vacant exit.
I feel so unfair for all the preparation, money, time and mental stress that I put into for an non-exit vacant.
Any authorities that I could put a complaint for the company messing people around?

We all have to prepare, dress well, get ourselves to interviews - and then not get the job. You have to realise that you won't be the only person they've interviewed for any job, so someone else may have been successful. This is how it is - sometimes you go to interview and they don't even bother to tell you youu've not been selected (bad practice, but it happens).
Move on, and prepare for the next one.

So they're fishing in the market to see who might be out there. Oh, great sometimes the job isn't even there. They are just have all the rights to do that. It happens all the time, but doesn't mean its right. I don't mind they select someone else, internal or external. Don't mind they said my English is rubbish like the one said my English wasn't up to scratch. But said re think if the job even there. I know I type something wrong "non-exit vacant" I type so fast and I have hit the submit button, couldn't change for the wordsmith here. Yes, English is not my first language, but I feel a bit discouraged that someone here said my English wasn't up to scratch. Anyway, thank you for all your comments esp from mamyalynne. Of course, I am not gonna to put a complaint, just moaning.
The vacancy probably did exist though, momoko - but an employer will probably only appoint someone at that moment if they think the person will clearly strengthen the team. If they feel the person interviewed meets most but not all the key competences and will need some development they may decide to wait until a more suitable candidate comes along
Momoko, don't feel disheartened by this, it does happen and unfortunately there is no law against it. I once applied for a job I knew I was good at, I got to the interview and ticked all the boxes according to the interviewees and didn't get the job because an internal candidate was already temping there! ! I could have screamed. Wasted my time and annual leave from my otber job. As for the english not being up to scratch, im sure who ever posted that was joking. X
