I'm 18 and just left school, I am trying to find a job at the moment, have sent about a 100 application letters and CVs, applied to other places and had a few interviews so far, and another couple coming up, but I was wondering whether I could be seeking jobseekers allowance at the moment, as I am unemployed and seeking a job... I currently live with my parents, would this affect it? I never had a job while I was at school and so didn't pay NI. I am also currently volunteering at my local hospital... would this affect it?

ooh you are in exactly the same position as me.
I am currently claiming JSA, as long as you dont have savings more than 2500 pounds, and you arent working more than 16 hours in a paid job, you should be ok to claim. Check on the jobcentreplus website, just google it.
