I have a BSc without hons and have been told by the teacher training agency that it is still possible to get on a schools direct or PGCE course. Does anyone know of any uni's in the North of England (Manchester ideally) that don't want a minimum of a 2:2 Hons degree as I cant seem to find any.

Try The Open Univerity. It's as expensive as other unis now, unfortunately, but you could study at home and still work.
I am not aware you can do a PGCE through the OU
You're right f-f. Sorry, neddyw, I didn't read the question properly.
There are other teacher training courses available- you could do a certificate to qualify you to teach adults, and then try to get work at a further education college. Many staff I worked with in a music dept at a college didn't have degrees but had industry experience. They did a teaching certificate which allowed them to be qualified to teach 16+.
