CAN I STILL get a job if i have a conviction off ABH 23 years ago job in care work

If you get the job or not is down to the person or company offering it. As it was a long time ago they may still be willing to offer you a job.The best thing is to be honest about it and explain that it was a long time back and you are a different person now.

I would think if i was an employer I would want to know exactly the circumstances which resulted in being charged with actual bodily harm.
Maybe not the perfect profession for you to be in (caring) in this day and age - now a changed person or not. With all the publicity surrounding assaults in care homes I would think they would avoid employing anyone with an ABH background just to be on the safe side.
