Follow-up e-mail - is it worth it?

I went for an interview today for a job that i'm really interested in. I think they are keen on me and somebody else so thought if I send a follow-up e-mail saying how much I like the sound of the job that might give me an advantage.

Do you think these are a good idea? If so, what sort of thing should I write.
