Giving Notice To Leave...

Hi,

I work in a school and intend to give my 4 weeks notice. So as not to return in the new term.
I am told that I can give it on 31st July ie. in holiday.
Is this correct?

What does your contract and T and C say?

Do you get paid during the holidays? Some roles- rgTA type jobs -have different contractual terms anfrom other roles

I work as an HLTA and my contract says I need to give 4 weeks notice.
If this includes holidays I can give notice via email on 31st July.
Have been told this is ok - but always thought that notice was 'worked' ??

In the NHS if you have holiday owing and give notice then you may well finish actually being at work before the end of your notice period.

If you are employed to work term-time only then your contract continues during school holidays and you could give your notice 4 weeks prior to returning for the Autumn term. That way you get paid until 1st September
