Hey I am a 1 yr engineering student and at my colleges the placements are not that good and i really want to work at top software companies like google, facebook etc and i really want to know that how can i apply for these jobs and what these companies look in a job applicant so i can study that in my next engineering years.
Companies such as Google are so popular they get hundreds of applicants for every vacancy. So to stand a chance you need to study very hard and get the top grades. Studying computer science would be useful but again to stand a chance you need to be top of the class.
Yes they have offices all around the world, but the headquarters where all the really interesting stuff is , is in the USA .
It definitely helps to have the right to work in the USA.
You could try for a job in a local office and hope to become so good they transfer you to the USA , but the fact still remains that they get 400+ applications for every job.
