No convictions for 4 years will i be able to go on course then run a pub
Getting a licence is No Problem . The problem will be actually getting accepted to run a pub. They have a LOT more applicants than there are pubs available. I tried once and was told there are 100 applicants for every pub available. I ran a pub twice for 3 weeks each time while the licensee was on holiday.
You don't need to declare criminal convictions which are 'spent' and they won't show up on the 'basic' DBS check that will be carried out.

The length of time that has to pass before a conviction becomes spent depends upon the sentence which was passed by the court, rather than upon the actual nature of the offence itself. However it's almost certain that a conviction for shoplifting 4 years ago will now be spent. See Table A here for detailed information:

Like Eddie, I've also run a pub in the licensee's absence, as well as managing a sports club bar (on a part-time basis) for several years.

As Eddies says, there are far more applicants than there are vacancies and it's a much harder job than most people seem to think. (There's a lot of paperwork, plus learning about handling real ales, etc). You might need to work on your written English if your application for a post is to stand any chance of success.
I can just imagine eddie running a battle cruiser!
The pubs I ran had a 'Live in ' licence . It means there must ALWAYS be someone living there. If there is no one there at night the pub is classed as a 'Lock Up' (don't think that is the correct term) and the insurance is a lot higher .
