Is one entitled to holiday pay if on extended sick leave, also is your employer obliged to pay for public holidays, e.g. Christmas & Boxing Day?

I'm not sure i understand your question. But if you are not at work you can't take a holiday from it, so no you can't take holiday pay whilst on long term sick leave. Sorry don't know what you mean about public holidays, as you are not working i can't see how it would affect you... but on a gernal point re bank holidays see http://www.dti.gov.uk/er/bankhol.htm and click the link for frequently asked questions. hope this helps, Kind regards Undercovers

You are entitled to holiday pay whilst on long term sick leave. The minimum holiday entitlement is 4 weeks (20 Days) or your equivelant working week. If you are only receiving Statuory Sick Pay, contact your employer and ask them for any unpaid holiday pay, (you will need to tell your benefit payer). If they refuse, you may be able to take them to am Industrial Tribunal. Sorry I cant be specific about laws.
At my firm, which is quite a large one, while sick, we are not entitled to holiday pay, what would have been our holidays revert to normal working days, but, we when we resume, we are entitled to caim the holidays we missed while sick, Bank holidays and Christmas day, are not classed as holidays, they are, agai, normal working days, of course, this may not apply to your firm, different firms have different practices.
