I applied for a new job and i have been accepted but they want me to start before my notice will have been worked through what would you suggest i do in this situation

ask to be released from your old job early

Is your notice more than one month?

If so ask to be released early, if they refuse go anyway, there is nothing they can do about it and cannot withhold payment.

If not then anything less than one month is reasonable, ask the new company if they can compromise as you'd like to honour your contract with current employers.
