No.

I can't imagine a job like that not requiring an applicant that is already trained and has previous experience.

Don't think you could cope with that - sorry.

Are you interested in distilling? Are you good at reading meters and doing calculations? How's your record keeping?

Without knowing that sort of thing it's impossible to say

Question Author

That what I thought only the warehouse side I might only be familiar with

No, it really doesn't sound like your thing at all.

The job is for an apprentice, so no previous experience should be necessary

Question Author

Calculations yes, metres ok and not sure about record keeping

Do you know what distilling means?  Would you know what hydrometers and PH are?

Meters darlin', unless you're on about the gauges far away on the opposite wall.

Meters for reading the gravity of alcohol so the alcohol level can be calculated.

More likely litres than metres if its liquids in bottles and tanks.

Do you know the pH scale Abbey?

Can you do all those things?

^ for the laundry job?

Question Author

Well I'd leave the laundry

Are you still doing the fork lift truck course later this month Abbey?

Question Author

Yes

Abbey, it might be on your doorstep, but it's not up your street.

You may need to swot up on this if you get an interview at the distillery.

Reminds me of a job in Customs and Revenue as it was.Measuring the alcohol content in the vats at Mortlake brewery in order to assess duty.

I knew a young man in our local in Barnes High St who was the revenue man for Watneys and he was a total alcoholic, mad as a box of frogs, yet, highly intelligent all wrapped up in one parcel. I really don't think he just walked into that career.
