I've just signed up with this agency and at first they asked if I could start this warehouse job I showed you a description of a few weeks ago but they want me to start sooner than 2 weeks which is notice I'm suppose to give. Just finished signing up with them. What do I do?

I think a packing job might be more suitable for abbey.

so could hardworking and reliable!

I would give it a miss.  You will just be back bleating in a couple of weeks when things go wrong (again).

What kind of products will you be handling? Food products? Electrical? Goods in transit from one depot to another. Home delivery items of online orders?

Question Author

Yes I am hardworking and reliable.

Not sure what the company is called so don't know.

Do you want the job, abbey?

Abbey, do you think the (previous) warehouse, the care home, the cleaning firm and Selco would agree with your self-assessment of 'hard working and reliable'?

I think a packing job might be more suitable for abbey.

Question Author

Naomi not sure as would have to work my notice.

I was told in night out with selco last week that they had to cut my hours back even tho my checkout manager fought for me.

You could ask selco if they would let you go earlier and if not, tell the new company you have to work your notice.  As you only work ten hours a week I think there's a good chance selco would let you go.

Question Author

I been told different things such as they might ask if I want tp go now and they will pay me or have to work my 2 weeks notice.

Abbey, there's absolutely no harm in asking, putting in your notice (if you get the warehouse job) - the worst that'll happen is that you will have to do 2 weeks notice. The warehouse must be used to that happening - they probably expect the same amount of notice from THEIR staff!

Question Author

Might be different with agencies

Question Author

What do I tell my parents why I left selco if I do?

The truth, It's always the easiest. There's no reason to lie. You needed full time hours not 10 hours a week, and it's a role you think you will thrive in.

Question Author

Maybe hold back abit I'm thinking they don't tell everyone.

How do you think you are going to be able to meet deadlines and daily targets. You cannot decide what to wear, what to eat and what to tell people about you job. Will you be coming on here and asking us what we think you should do?

Abbey, wait and see if you do get the job. And if you don't, I think you should stop hiding things from your mum/parents - that's well over a year now that you've been keeping these big things from them.

"Yes, I am hardworking and reliable"

Fine example of self-delusion.
