If there's one thing that gets socialists pebble dashing their screens with organic peace porridge it's the very idea of cutting down the supply of other peoples money to give to work shy scum.

What about widows and orphans, would you see them starve?

And the chronically ill, are they to die earlier because a heartless government takes from them the ability to heat their homes and feed themselves?

Things have come to a pretty pass when a Labour PM seems to be trying to out-Thatcher the iron hearted lady.

Probably very difficult to get the balance and the system right. Welfare needs to be there for genuine need, but the system ought not remove incentive to get one's life together.  Hopfully proposed changes will be correctly debated.

09:59 I mentioned work shy scum sandy, do keep up.

But how are we to differentiate between the deserving and undeserving poor?

Start by giving the exact figure for dealing with the invaders, from rescue to hotel bed, not forgetting walking around money and healthcare, that'll identify an easy saving right there.

No paperwork, no processing, straight back where they came from.

All low-hanging fruit giving home-grown chancers an opportunity to adjust their expectations.

//However, dissenting backbenchers do not think cutting back on welfare spending fits with Labour’s traditional position.//

"But how are we to differentiate between the deserving and undeserving poor?" - It's very simple to tell if they have ever worked.

//What about widows and orphans, would you see them starve?//

What a stupid answer, apart from the fact TTT specifically mentioned the workshy just how many "widows and orphans" are there - enough to make a difference, I dont think so.  I suspect you know exactly what he was getting at.

//But how are we to differentiate between the deserving and undeserving poor?//

You really dont know?  Well how about for a start fit healthy famillies that have never worked?

It wll be interesting to see who wins out on htis TTT.  The problem for 2TK is that he sold out working people in favour of minorities and the workshy who are now his voter base.
