how do i become a midwife

i am a 29 yr old mum of 8 an my dream is to be a midwife can any one help me with advice , i have no qualifacations so were do i start please help thank you

I found out that you can do an Access course for 1 year full-time or 2 years part time. If you pass it is the equalivent to gaining A-Levels, you can then apply for the Midwifery Course which I think is for another 3/4 years. I also heard that it will go in your favour when applying if you come from a care enviroment or have been doing some volunteering at a hospital. I would love to do it, I just can't afford to give up work and study.
