Try contacting your local careers centre and ask an adult advice worker for some support, or contact your college speak to the student centre and ask for advice, the earlier the better really!

Hi There,

NO You Do not get any Help if your partner is working.

I did a college course three years ago and got no help what so ever because my partner was in full time employment.

However some colleges have a fund set up for people on low incomes to help with exam costs in your case it will be the nvq which when I did it cost in the region of �120 plus you will need a hairdressing kit aprox �90.

The only help you do get is a 25% cut in your council tax, you will need proof of your enrolment first though.

Not fair really is it!! I did the same course you are considering, I could not complete it though due to childcare problems at the time, but it is enjoyable!!!
