Work for a company as there are hundreds of IT roles, from admin work that uses Microsoft packages to Network administration? Or go mobile and offer IT services to people at their own homes?
Personally, I had dabbled with web design but have gotten into it more seriously recently. I began doing "freebies" for some friends and local businesses. Then I set up my own personal site and put links from the other sites to mine. That way, you get your name and business advertised!
It might be worthwhile looking at a site like http://catalogue.learndirect.co.uk/courses/ where you can train towards specific IT qualifications. ECDL and Word are good for admin jobs but won't offer much if you want to look at technical IT jobs...
