Getting into PR

I currently work in car sales and have worked in prestige brands, in fleet and retail. I would like to get into a local PR company as an account manager, which they are currently advertising. Have I got a chance? What do you need to get into PR (apart from the qualifications)? Will my sales/account management skills experience help? thanks!

ideas, a creative streak, enthusiasm, a willingness to learn and above all else ability to connect with your customers. List the attributes you have and then approach the company who are advertising. Make your pitch and ask their advice. This one may fall through, but you'll have your answer and there will be others.
