I am in huge debt, im only 26 and owe about 25,000 including student loan. The only way i can think of getting rid of the pressure is to become an escort as it pays well.

Can anyone give me some advice?

Do you mean escort for sex or escort for escorting men to 'do's'. If you mean the sex one, that is illegal so i wouldnt advise you to take that option. The 'just escorting' option is safer but marginly, there are alot of dangerous men out there. Be careful. :o)

yes, my advice is........Dont do it.

It's not the way, sweetie.

First of all get help and advice for your debt - go to CAB or similar for FREE advice.

Then have another think.
It may help with some of your finances in a short term way, but in the long term your social, health and welfare may suffer.

i think you you be better advised to use that education you spend 20 grand on and go get a decent job and slowly pay your debt back - student loan you shouldn't worry about too much as they only take a percentage of your wage (directly) so they only take what you can afford - though you will be paying it off of decades. As for the rest get some advice as mentioned and get job hunting - yes it'll take years BUT quick fixes are rarely what they are cracked up to be.

Really no need to do this - you could earn substantial amounts working part time evening or two and the odd Saturday or Sunday - if you are brave enough to escort, you are brave enough to do what I need, and earn, say 250 to 750 per fortnight legally.
Sorry, I disagree with the previous posters, with some buts...
Don't do the sex-sort of escorting, but I'm sure(hope) you don't mean this.
Find a reputable agency to work for. No idea how you'd judge reputation though! The most expensive?!
Make it clear you won't be doing the sex side of things - and stick to that.
Set a time limit to quit, or you'll just get stuck doing it for ever.
If you're sure you can handle it, go for it! I dare say you'll get to do and see things you never would ordinarily.
As an aside, isn't it wonderful how our education system, under labour, has brought young people to this state?
May I ask sophie2006 of what amount is owing for your student loan?

my student loan is 15,000, i currently work full time therefore the loan repayment come directly out of my salary monthly.

Unfortunatly I cant keep up with the other payments.

Dont do it.

If you are so worried about your debts, go Bankrupt it carries less stigma than whats is percieved to be prostitution

Catso, you make it sound like the option to go into escorting because of student debts is a new phenomena - I doubt it is.

sophie2006 it will be a downward spiral, and no doubt for every 5 gentlemen you meet, you will meet 20 rotters. If you are in despair at your finances then what would be there to stop you accepting an additional amount of money to go further than just escort? I can almost be certain most men using escorts would expect that 'extras' can be accommodated.

I truly don't believe this is the answer, but it is your life.
Hi Sophie. I'm in a smiliar position to yourself. I know how hard it is, but really, don't even consider selling your body. Escorting GENERALLY = sex. It's unlikely that you'll get many clients who just want to pay you 250 for a wee chat and a cuppa.

Contact your local Citizens Advice. There are not only funds available to help you pay off immediate debts etc, but they will be able to offer a lot of advice as to what you can do re your other debts. For example, you can request that the interest is frozen on your credit cards, or if your credit rating is already screwed, you can make token payments of 5 a month until you sort out a reasonable repayment plan. I woudn't bother about your student loan. You have to be earning over 15k before they start claiming and it's only a few quid a month they ask for.

Another option is the National DebtLine (http://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/ ) which gives free and impartial advice on how to cope with debts.

Unfortunately (for both of us!) getting out of debt quick isn't an option - But there are ways to cope with the debts we have. Good luck xxxx

I did this for a short while a few years ago (althought I'm male).

Most women expect a chat and literally an escort - a few wanted extra's - did that once - strangely uncomfortable!!

The women in the agency were of two camps - some did extra's, some didn't.

Whilst it may be illegal, the agencies know which clients want what, and you will be advised that it's your discretion.

It's good money, and generally the client's are tidy through reputable agencies.

Try it once, and if you don't like it, stop doing it.

malaise I am wondering how the CAB can have funds available for debt...how does that work then?
gouldc - I'm in a really similar position to sophie2006 and had come up with the same idea! Please can you tell me more about it? How do you find a 'good' agency?
Octavius: well I think it is. Not new, new - but certainly 'new' since this wonderful system of charging people to go to university came in. A real cynic would say it's a tax on learning.
To compare: when I went to uni, many years ago now, I got a grant to support me while I was there. It was just enough to live on. But many students either worked part-time during term, or more liklely got a job during the holidays (I did). This bit of extra income enabled everyone (everyone I knew, anyway) to leave uni with pretty much zero debt and have (I admit it) a very entertaining and care-free 3 years.
Ahhh, the good old days.
sunflower68: The CAB don't have it, but they can put you in contact with a variety of organisations who are able to help out. My ex flatmate got 300 towards her various debts, though I don't know specifically who from (though this was organised through a series of meetings at the CAB). She also had interest frozen on three credit cards, again through the CAB.
