Jobs in Graphic Design

Can anyone recommend any good websites where to look for jobs in graphic design and illustration? I am in West Midlands area so any local sites would be good too.

Good luck with that one. There are too many designers and not enough jobs. I too am a designer and I have just landed in Canada to try to get a job only to discover its just as bad over here :(

Yikes! Best of Luck Kitten, I'm sure you've got something by now. I'm in the same position. I'm a Junior Designer and I hate the fact that companies expect a min. of 3 yeras experience before you can even get a sniff of a junior role. It sucks!

Hi! No I don't have a job yet! There just doesn't seem to be much about at the moment. I have joined an agency. You could give that a go. They have come up with quite a few jobs but unfortunately all of them have been too far away for me as I don't drive. I have about four years experience with some freelance too and I find a lot of jobs want a lot more than that! The best thing to do I think is while your looking keep yourself busy with your own projects so you have something to say that you're doing currently in interviews. I design flyers and posters for a club night so I always mention that and show it in my portfolio. Also I've been advised to send out emails to local design companies explaining I'm looking for work and attach my CV so I plan to do that soon. It's worth giving it a go even if they're not advertising just in case something comes up. Good luck!
