i work in an accounts department for a steel company, it is our stocktake next weekend and we are expected to work all weekend with no pay. So i will be workin 12 days in a row 9 to 5 with no day off and the weekend with no pay, but the people in the accountants dept where i work will not be stock taking just doing there normal job. I have not signed anything to say i agree to this so where do i stand?

There is no way you can be made to work for nothing. Refuse to do it unless they pay you. If they cause you trouble, go to your union rep if you have one. If not, contact ACAS and tell them the situation. I assume that your contract is for a 35 or 37 hour week. They cannot go against your contract without agreeing it with you first.
you should be entitled to extra pay or time off in lue. What about citizen advice bureau as well as acas?
