Learning Spanish

I need to start speaking Spanish, fast. Do you think enrolling in a GCSE Spanish class is a good idea? Or do you have any ideas how to get to grips with the language the quickest and easiest way?

I don't know if this is of interest but there's a guy called Daniel Tammet. He's an autistic savant who came to prominance by memorising pi to 22,000 places.
Anyway uniquely he can also function normally and learn languages very quickly, he learnt Icelandic in a week and went on Icelandic TV to prove it!
He has a website selling language courses over the web that he's devised, currently he's got French and Spanish in tutorials of 30 lessons - each tutorial's 30 so 1 a lesson there are some examples on the site

I've not yet tried them myself but they do look interesting

Get yourself a good grammar book and some tapes you can listen to. Perhaps a Teach Yourself Spanish with tapes?
Also, once you've got yourself started, perhaps hire a private Spanish speaking tutor. This will cost you, but paying out good money will concentrate your mind in making sure you get value for money.
