I am applying to uni' and i have no formal qual's apart from an NVQ in Business admin level 3. I am very very keen for the subject i've chosen, as i have an interest in the profession.

I will be speakng to the course leader in a few days time. do yu think they will accept me if i can convince them that i am serious about succeeding in this degree.

The course tutors have already said that they are very impressed with my Personnal Statement however, I need better grades to be accepted - this is to give them a guarantee that I would not fail.

Like I already said above, if I show how committed and enthusiastic I am about this profession would they waiver this.

I would be a mature student.

Thanks for any help given.

enthusiasm is good but you need to show that you have the accademic ability to get on the course. One of the other ways you can get into university is to do an access course. These corses are usually open to anyone who wants to get into university regardless of their previous qualifications and. Upon passing the access course (relevant to the course you want to take) you will have the qualification to get onto the degree program that you want to. One of the girls on my biochemistry course entered through this route.

Hi muchlovex, have you also considered Open University? I am starting a degree this month and like yourself am a mature student. I only possess 2 gcse's at grade c and a gnvq in business. They are hugely supportive and you still get the chance to go to residential schools. Plus they ease you into studying if you havent done any for a while. Good luck anyway, I'm sure they will give you a chance with proven enthusiasm
