For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.they are usually to judge you 'personality' at work i.e. how would you react in different situations, are you trustworthy, loyal, teamworker etc. ....they are usually a series of statements which you agree or disagree with or they put 4 characteristics and you have to say which you are most and least like. They repaeat things so that you cannot really lie and you just have to answer honestly ...majority of people come out ok ....not psychos...nothing to worry about or read up on!!
Lots of employers now look at people's behaviours rather than people's skills. The basic skills in many jobs can be taught - typing, how to use a till, etc. It is the "softer skills" that people cannot be trained in or taught. These such tests are designed to see your attitudes and behaviours in a series of given situations. If the tests signify that your behaviours are what they are looking for then the idea is that you can be taught the other skills that will enable you to perform in your job. These tests will be slightly different in every job as each role will need a different degree of emphasis on each of the skills being tested. As per the previous answer you cannot rehearse or revise for such a test and they are set up to "catch out" people stating what they think the tester wants to hear. Just be yourself and answer as truthfully as possible.
Good luck!
