Can anyone recommend a good book that explains the Children Act 1989? as I am starting my 3rd year Social Work Placement and need to get my head around it thanks

The Department of Health published their own guide to the Act. Secondhand copies are available from �6.75 (see below).

However, for the most accessible, but still detailed, guides to many subjects within the social sciences, it's often best to seek out a volume in the 'Blackstone's Guides' series. The relevant volume is available, secondhand, from �2.07.
