P45 - cannot find my p45 when I started a new job
5 Answers
I started a new job last June but could not find my p45. The tax code I am on must be an emegency code. How do I find out if I am paying too much tax or would the tax office have a copy of my p45? and do I need to contact them? Thanks

This will sort out any over or underpayment of tax in the current tax year.
Aristotle is quite right, but because 3 months have passed, I recommend you look at your first and most recent payslips and see if the tax code has changed. If it hasnt it would be worth completing a P46 now, or speaking to your payroll administrator to get it sorted or if both those avenues fail, phone your tax office for their advice (number in the phone book).
But Aristotle is also right that these things do come out in the wash eventually.
