Ability to listen. Sense of humour.Patience.

The ability to work with children, adaptability- there is always a new initiative on the horizon,being able to empathise with parents,putting children before targets -having the strength of character to stand up for what you know is right for your class and the individuals in it, being part of a team that includes caretaker ,dinnerlady, cleaner etc,being kind,enjoying the work and dedication.Don't expect to master all these in the first term.
