my mum is a nurse at a private home, therfore does not have to weara uniform, so she has to buy clothes for work, was just wandering is there any way she could be re-imbursed for the money she spends on specific clothes????

not that I'm aware of unless they were special clothes that she must buy, in which case it would be up to her employer and should be in her contract.

She should be able to claim income tax relief on clothes used specifically and exclusively for work. Keep all receipts for this purpose.

Would it not be hard to prove that the clothes are just worn at work if they are just every day clothes? Most people have clothes they just wear for work but Im not sure they get reimbursed for it? I guess there would only be a case for reimbursment if the employer is specifying exactly what clothes must be worn.
