Any teachers out there?

My daughter has just done the edexcel higher maths paper, 2 papers of 100 each, she received a mark of 40 out of 100 for each, please could you anyone let me know what grade that should be, the teacher marked it wrong initially and says she needs to remark, only she needs to have her application into college tomorrow.

This roughly indicates a B grade but bear in mind that 20% of the final grade is usually coursework and that the grade boundaries will vary slightly from paper to paper. I am also slightly concerned about making a prediction when the teacher is remarking it rather than just finding out the boundaries since that seems to indicate that the mark may yet go up or down so that is a very rough guide!

Sorry to intrude but does 40% really deserve a B grade? I'm used to the Scottish system where at least 60% is required for a B.
