Do you need any specific qualifications to be an estate agent? I'm starting a new job in a couple of weeks as an office administrator in a commerical and business transfer agents. They want me to eventually get into the selling side of things (accompany viewings etc) Do you think i could progress and get into estate agent work?

My partner has been an estate agent for 10 years and had his own business for 4 years, there are many laws to adhere to ie: property misdescriptions act. But generally most training is on the job. It's a highly targeted job so you need good sales skills. I think there are courses you can do within estate agency but to become an estate agent generally employers look for good sales and people skills.
